8:30 am breakfast meeting.
After breakfast we set off to the Wawel Hill. (See link)
http://www.youropi.com/nl/krakau/locations/wawel-1128
We can not park nearby, drop the others so Dad will not have to walk too far. We park the van down the hill and take the stairs back up. It is misting and it does not invite you to go for a walk around the castle and cathedral. Though we look down on the Dragon for a moment (see info link above). My camera report problems with the memory card. Unfortunately, only formatting will help. Did I transfer all the pictures? What will be necessary should be done.
We walk across the courtyard of the castle, then we will visit the cathedral.
Photography is not allowed. In the crypt: shooting succeed.
Is Chopin buried here? No, it is only a memorial stone. The grandeur of the cathedral radiates from the interior. Enrichment repeat.
Outside, it’s still raining. We are looking for a nice place for lunch, and come up with ‘Pad Wawelem’. With the offer of a schnitzel, with a glass of wine or beer, a few of us have switched from the goulash soup to the schnitzel.
For a short break back to the hotel. Dad can take a short rest before the final goal of the journey begins. At 15.00 pm we are in the Museum Schindler Fabryka. Get a guided tour through the exhibition about Krakow (deliberate spelling) during the war. This is at times pretty tough. Children between 5 and 17 years, who wrote a letter. This is really hard. History repeats.
Roma Liebling 5 years old:
Halina Nelken 17 years old:
Stella Muller 8 years old:
Renia Knoll 14 years old:
Also the following texts make a great impression:
Crusaders, nazi's, japanese and isis. Posing with the jews who are suspended. Destruction of art. Repeat
The museum has several exhibits, this is worth a visit. Hard, realistic, we learn from this? Remarkably many young people among the visitors, which is encouraging.
Left, each tin symbolizes a jew whose life has been saved.
The picture on the right is a puzzle that shows the image of Hitler as you combine the swines in the good way.
On both of the above photo's right, our guide Marianna Dekapolitova.
Emotional at times, sometimes confrontational. Our guide must continue, at 18.00 pm, the opening of the new exhibit.
One problem, there is no interpreter German - Polish. Hein jumps as "between interpreter." Dad tells his story in German, Hein translates into English and the interpreter of the museum into Polish. A hesitant start, then a better combination. The story comes across well with the visitors. Widespread appreciation. Three new diaries are offered to the museum.

We conclude with a snack, a drink, a quick glance at the new exhibition (tomorrow we have more time) and talk with visitors and employees of the museum.
Recognition, acknowledgment, appreciation, and care to share. A rainbow of languages. Reconciliation and relationship are palpable. Also that brings suffering. It's been nice so back to the hotel. A snack, a settler, to bed.
Pulished in “Metro” from 11-10-2016
00.00 It is midnight
Gaby congratulations, for the first time since we know each other, I'm not there. Krakow, Auschwitz, Birkenau, Aleppo. They are not there.
Dad is tired, satisfied, moved, sad, relieved and feels secure. No hard feelings, but a message. That has not been awarded many not have done many.
